Food Pics of the Week (FPOTW)

Tulu Seaside (***)

4201 Atlantic Ave, Va. Beach, VA 23451

I guess almost every city now has Restaurant Week. The hubby and I checked out Tulu Seaside, and I gotta say that we both enjoyed the restaurant (not because it was Restaurant Week). While we had a nice spread of food, I cannot wait to return to try more things on the restaurant’s menu. To be perfectly honest, I was a bit more interested in the non-Restaurant Week menu items.

While we were fortunate to get a view of the Atlantic Ocean, it was unfortunate that the weather was kind of crappy.

The Food

The food (left to right): Crisp Chicken Kofta, Adobo Pork Tenderloin, and No More Thym (some thyme-infused gin-based cocktail)

While everything was oh-so delicious, I will say that the Apple Fritter Bread Pudding was worth the 1000+ calories.

Question of the day?:

If your neck of the woods has them, do you participate in Restaurant Week?

  1. They have a great restaurant week where I live but I’ve only participated a couple or so times. I should go more because it’s a great time to visit some of the busier restaurants that you normally can’t get a reservation for months with.

    • I remember back when NYC Restaurant Week was a huge deal (I wanna say around 2003). The prices would reflect the year. For instance in 2003, lunch would be 20.03 and dinner would be 30.03. Nowadays, it’s not even worth it (at least in NYC) because most restaurants have some sort of prix fixe menu year round.

With the restaurant we visited last week, I was this || close to ordering things that were not on the restaurant week menu.

  2. York City does restaurant week but I’ve never participated as I really don’t go into the city much. I’m cheap and don’t want to pay to park plus I don’t want to be in the city in the dark as there are a lot of shootings.
