NYC Marathon 2022 #6
All righty, it’s that time of year again . . . Getting off my ass and start training for NYC Marathon 2022. It feels a little early, but Nov. 6, 2022 will be right around the corner in no time.

Since I have not really been putting a lot of effort into running lately, I think that I’m going to train for this marathon as a beginner. Well . . . a beginner in the physical, flabby, chain-smoker sense. As I move through my training calendar, I will start planning some goals for this marathon. Speaking of my training calendar, I’m going with Hal Higdon’s Marathon Training Plan: Novice 2. I’ve already added the training plan to my Google Calendar, and we’ll begin on June 27, 2022.

Since I have to be difficult, I will make some minor adjustments to the training. For instance, Wednesdays will be dedicated to running workouts focused on speed runs, race pace runs, tempo runs, Yasso 800s, and VO2-max runs. While June 27, 2022 officially is my training start day, I’ll technically start this weekend because I am running the FRNY Pride Run (4M) on Saturday and Achilles Hope & Possibility (4M) on Sunday. I have a feeling that I’ll probably walk one of these races. Let’s see where the weekend will take me.

A little positivity that I saw on my block after this morning’s (very) easy run.

Birthday Week
I guess it’s almost time to add another candle to the old birthday cake. June 25 will mark yet another birthday (ugh). I will be honest and say that I’m not really in the mood to celebrate my birthday this year with planning a major move and having to find a new job. You know, I think that I’m getting to the age (maybe it’s my personality) where I do not really feel the need to celebrate my birthday. I’m fine with celebrating other folks’ birthdays, but I’m like whatever when it comes to mine. Maybe that will change for the “more important” birthdays – you know, the ones that come in multiples of fives. The hubby and two friends did have dinner the other night, and the restaurant gave up an order of their specialty doughts. I think the waiter heard us talk about birthdays. For our group, we have this connection: Friend A’s husband’s birthday (6/23), my birthday (6/25), Friend A’s birthday (7/4), and hubby’s birthday (7/26).

Questions of the Day:
-Do you celebrate your birthday? If so, how did you celebrate your last birthday (feel free to add your age if you feel comfortable)?
-Does anyone know what kind of car this is? I’m doing another RunChat scavenger hunt, and one of the items was an antique car.

Social Media Plug:
Random and LOL: It seems like I’m doing Instagram wrong because I’m actually losing followers.

No idea on the car. I’m having a hard time finding an antique car for the RunChat Hunt.
Happy early birthday! I didn’t do much for my last birthday in February but that’s because my daughter has been having major health issues, otherwise I would have gone out of town for the long weekend. That’s my favorite way to celebrate. Then when I come home I’ll go out to dinner with friends.

Oh No! I hope your daughter is doing better. If she is, you can celebrate your real bday on your half bday. 😉 Sending both of you well wishes.
Since we are in 2022, I guess “antique” can count as anything from the 80s. 😉

I haven’t really celebrated my birthday since my 30th one. Jason, three friends and I went bowling. He turns 40 in August and I asked if he wanted a party and got a definite no lol. I think the combo of him being introverted, having limited friends and not wanting to admit he’ll be 40 factored into that. Normally we get an ice cream cake or some treat to just celebrate together at home.

Happy early birthday! It’s ok if you don’t celebrate, but, if you wouldn’t mind, I’d like to celebrate for you, with ice cream and cake. Can’t let a good reason for sweets go to waste!

I had my 50th in January. Hm, what did I do? I think we had a takeaway, I don’t think I did a thing with my friends, because Covid. And I thought I was OK then cut off some of my long hair the week after and had to rush off to the hairdresser to get it cut into a bob. So not sure about the next one!! Good luck with the training, that looks like a good plan.

Have a great weekend too. We’ll see how the marathon training plan will go.
Do you think that you are going to re-do your 50th? On a talk show, a celebrity said that birthdays during pandemics and incarcerations do not count. 😉
