Food Pics of the Week

Tupelo Honey (***)

4501 Main Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23462

Random trivia told to me by my friend : Elvis Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi. Perhaps, this is common knowledge.

We were trying to feed our inner southern.

I had a blast having brunch at this spot in “downtown” Va Beach with an old high school friend, who I have not seen in YEARS!

Sriracha Honey Fried Chicken & Waffles

Man, these waffles were so delicious, and I need the recipe for the honey Sriracha sauce. Actually, I guess that I could make it myself by mixing honey and Sriracha myself . . . Duh. I just realized that I was in Va. Beach for four full days and had waffles for three of those four days. No wonder, I was feeling extra sluggish when trying to do Shaun T’s Insanity yesterday. 😉

Also, I was pleasantly surprised with my Bloody Mary because I did not realize that it came with bacon.

Sorry for the ‘yucky’ picture, but I was so excited when I found bacon in my drink.

Then again, I would have know that bacon was in the beverage had I fully read the Bloody Mary menu.

Oh man. I wish that had Uber’ed instead driven to the restaurant so I could have tried ALL the Bloody Mary varieties. Maybe, it was for the best because I did have the Va. Beach Half Marathon the following day. I’ve never consumed a Bloody Mary made with rum or whiskey. Wait, this place does not have a Bloody Mary made with gin? Aren’t those called Bloody Margarets?

Overall, I would be more than happy to visit this place again during another trip to Va. Beach.
