Crawfish!!!!
As most may know, Astoria Seafood Market (***) probably is one of my favorite seafood spots in NYC. It’s not an elegant place, which is fine by me. The prices are not bad; the seafood is made to order; and the restaurant is byob, so you don’t have to pay a million bucks for a $20 bottle of wine. As a matter of fact, the bf and I had a huge red snapper, mussels, calamari, some little fish “things”, scallops, potatoes/salad for about 70 bucks TOTAL.
This was the first time the restaurant had crawfish, and I was super excited. Just an FYI, I did my undergrad years in New Orleans and I do not think that I had crawfish since graduation back in 2002.
One of my favorite memories from college was having crawfish ravioli at The Crawfish Bistro. I would treat myself to that dish after taking difficult exams. I’m looking at you, organic chemistry and physical chemistry.
I hope crawfish will continue to make regular appearances at the restaurant.
