Starting this week, I was supposed to begin a new fitness routine. Ummmm yeah, so that did not pan out too well.
For some reason, I had an intense craving for ceviche, so I met a friend in Jackson Heights to get my ceviche … and then some.

After ceviche and pisco sours, we ended up going to a Mexican restaurants for “good” margaritas; I just had tequila on the rocks. Then, we ended up going to a goddamn club …. on a Sunday night. Needless to say, I was pretty hungover most of Monday and didn’t make it to the gym. I could not even survive my 16-hr fast, and I had to get eggs and home fries at Tom’s Restaurant. You may recognize this diner from Seinfeld.
Proposed plan
Monday:
- Weightlifting or Abs and Ass class
- Zumba
Tuesday:
- Run
- Weightlifting (maybe)
Wednesday and Thursday: Date nights – no workouts. Maybe I could do some Yoga in the morning . . . if I can wake up early enough.
Friday:
- X-training or
- Run or
- Beachbody on Demand
Saturday:
- X-train or
- Yoga
Sunday:
- Run or
- Beachbody on Demand (Cize)
Since this is supposed to be a running blog, I’ve kind of lost my way for a while due to various injuries. It is kind of sad that Dec. 31st was my last race, but I think that I’m ready to get back on the road. I’m a little scared to start running again, because I have not done so in so long. I have signed up to run the Japan Run (4M; May 13th) and Italy Run by Ferrero (5M; June 3rd). During April (hopefully), I can start getting a decent baseline so I can actually train for the NYC Marathon in November.
Outside of these two races, I am considering running one of these Rock n Roll Series Half Marathons:
- Virginia Beach, Sept. 01 – 02 because it’s my hometown.
- Philadelphia, September 15 – 16
- Montreal, September 22-23rd
Ok, time to do some work. . . I guess. Well, I think that I will have a cigarette first.
I ran VA Beach 3 years in a row and then got burned out on it. It’s always SO DAMN HOT. I have trouble not having a little too much fun the night before too.

I was also thinking how hot Virginia Beach would be that weekend. I think Philly or Montreal would be better choices, at least weather-wise.

True, I kinda was thinking that I’ve never ran a race in my hometown (well since high school), so it may be nice. Plus, I may be in Va Beach for Labor Day weekend.
